It is now time to reveal who I've been admiring over the weekend as part of the Secret Admirer project.  I will also include how I concluded who my secret admirer was…

Capturing My Admiration

My attention and affection was directed at Miss Jaedia of Lazy Sniper.  It was almost like a cruel twist of fate to match this warlock up with a hunter.

Here are the notes of adoration I left for her – filled with tiny clues as to who I was:

Note #1:

To my dearest Jaedia ~

I’ve read your words for so long,
but I can’t keep going on.
In near silence I’ve stalked,
but I think it’s time we talked.
I can’t get close enough, your pet you call,
I just hope this war will end once and for all.

~Love Fool~

Note #2:

My dear, sweet Jaedia.

Do you feel an inner turmoil like I do? Although I wouldn’t mind being your most wanted target.

~Love Fool~

Note #3:

Darling Jaedia,

your tweets are so sweet,
your writing is quite divine.
I want to make you my Valentine.
Your latest post hurts me deep inside,
but this hurt I must try to hide.
Keeping myself a secret is getting quite hard.
I really just want to capture your soul in a shard.
Then I’d place high upon a shelf, where I can keep you all to myself.

~Love Fool~

I attempted to use the warlock-hunter war and the fact that both Jaedia and I have a hunter AND a warlock at max level.  And… we all know my love of collecting soul shards, especially of bloggers and the Twitterati.

Decoding Sweet Messages

Here is a recap of the notes my admirer left for me and what clues I spotted within them:

Note #1:

Dearest Loveliest Syrana, the Syren of My Heart,

Let us run away together to the woods of Crystalsong. The trees are for you, the snow is for me. Let us both abandon our Gamer Others and become a bastion of cross-faction affection.

My Soul Remains a Shard Within Your Ebonweave Bag,

-Your Secret *hic* Admirer

Clues: Snow loving Alliance who has someone special IRL and drunk valentines.

Note #2:

Dearest loveliest Syrana,

Never shall I begrudge you a Lifetap. I am prepared to renew your losses, and tend to your wounds.

Through Azeroth and Asmodae, New Eden or SimCity, I’d /follow you anywhere… even though you’ve left me once before. *sob*

Endlessly Devoted,
Your Secret Admirer

Clues: A healer (more specifically a priest due to renew) who has played/is playing some other games besides World of Warcraft … and one of the game worlds listed I am no longer a part of.

Conclusion: A dwarf priest blogger + Aion – my Aion subscription = Miss Medicina! I chatted with her about it on Twitter (she tried to play coy… saying she thought she figured out who my admirer was, but wasn't so sure :P).  But, she was a great sport and came by to leave me one last message!

Note #3:

OH I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR LOVE
ID RUN INTO YOUR HELLFIRE AND BACK
I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR LOVE
NEVER LIE TO YOU BECAUSE YOUD KICK MY ASS

BUT I’LL NEVER FORGET THE WAY YOU FEARED ME NOW
OH NO….

NO WAY

And I would do anything for Syrana….

But I won’t do that!

If you want to see the final reveal of everyone's admirer's, you can find it at The Physician's Log.

  • I’m not sure if I want to give a bonus point to Miss Medicina or take ten away for the Meatloaf song reference.

More importantly, I think I lose a few bonus points for catching that reference. Double that if she wasn’t making a Meatloaf reference.

  • @My admirer – the lovely Miss Medicina – I’ll be by that one tree. *winkwink*

    @Jaedia – <3

@Nim – Since I’m keeping score for the folks at home… that’s +1 for Miss Medicina and -3 for you 😛 (Naw, you don’t lose points. It was from “Bat Out of Hell (2 I think?)” so that’s .. umm… evil enough.

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom (Darcy/Syrana) and Dad (Brian/Sideshow) have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
