When I was a wee lass, I asked a lot of questions. While I was generally always considered a “bright kid,” most young children have those moments.
When I turned six, my birthday was much like today. It fell on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
I remember waking up and it being almost Christmas-like… I knew there would be presents. My parents told me my presents were hidden throughout the house; one for each year I was. (Ooh sneaky, learning and practicing can be fun!)
I also remember looking at the wall calendar that day. Being ever so astute, I noticed that there was someone else's name printed on the calendar on my birthday.
So, I asked my mother: “There is a king who's 6 today, too?”
