Last Sims Saturday introduced you to the first generation, consisting of Darcy and Brian… and their little bundle of joy, Aerissa!
Generation 1: Darcy and Brian (continued)
Darcy soon found out that “feel good” interviews only go so far. The real money is in diggin' up dirt to write about people around town. Late one night, after Aerissa was sound asleep, Darcy snuck out of the house and went down the block. She'd heard a lot of gossip around town concerning Roxie and her sister.
After rummaging through their trash, Darcy found some interesting items and wrote a trashy (no pun intended!), gossipy article about them. While Roxie and her sister didn't appreciate the article, the townspeople loved it.
Life continued and Darcy received a promotion for flexing her investigative reporting skills. By this time, Darcy had also published a few books and was enjoying the meager royalty checks. Brian also continued to work hard. Unfortunately, he wasn't at liberty to share very much about the goings on at the laboratory.
One day, Darcy stayed home after feeling ill for a few days. She went to the doctor and confirmed that she was with child again. She called Brian at work with the news. Brian, being a family orientated guy, rushed home quickly after work. He barely even noticed that Aerissa was hiding in the toy box as he ran to Darcy to fawn over her and the new pregnancy.
Darcy and Brian gave birth to a baby boy, whom they named Xander. The pregnancy went exceptionally well. Like any proud new parents, they swore they could see glimpses of an artistic genius behind his beautiful eyes. Because of this, Brian and Darcy enjoyed taking their children to the parks and museums, exposing them to all sorts of educational stimuli.
Aerissa and Xander were quite content to spend time playing with their toys, preferring musical and logical toys over all others. Darcy and Brian did well at sharing the duties of taking care of two young children. They often alternated getting up to tend to them throughout the night. Naps became a staple neither could live without. However, Darcy could not stay on maternity leave forever….
