Too Much Rock For One HandWith today's release of the video game Brütal Legend (which I will buy soon) I decided to check out the soundtrack and I was amazed at how long and brutal it was. In honor of this nod to metal, I wanted to allow everyone to listen to every song on this soundtrack to see what a great job they did creating it.

It plays as a kick-ass path through some of the great metal of the past and present from Black Sabbath to Dethkolk to Megadeth. Continue on to see every song on the soundtrack and a link to listen to it. Be warned: It's brutal.

This “task” turned into a much larger job than I expected with the playlist having 108 tracks. But, I got through it. Most of the tracks are linked through to Blip.fm (which I wrote about recently) and a few of them are to Amazon where you can hear a 30-second sample. Also, thanks to Samodean at Massive Nerd for his inspiration with his Countdown to Rocktober 13th. Like I said, I think they did a great job with it. Though, there is one glaring omission: Dream Evil's “The Book of Heavy Metal” but, I'll let it go this time. I have my eye on you Tim Schafer!

All links will open a new window, so you won't lose your place.

  • Awesome! IM a big metal fan myself, and nice to see you take a lot of time posting up these links for us metal heads haha 😀

    Thanks!

  • Yeah, it turned into a lot of work, but it’s worth it. A lot of great stuff there and a lot of stuff I’ve never heard (but want to hear more of.) Game is worth it just due to this even though I’m not seeing the best reviews for it.

  • @Syrana, though I did need to cut the guys head out. If I left it in, it would’ve ruined the mood. He doesn’t have the metal look.

Welcome

We are a family of gamers. Mom (Darcy/Syrana) and Dad (Brian/Sideshow) have been gaming for as long as they can remember back when you only had a joystick to use and saved your games to cassette tapes.

They've been gaming together since they met in 2002. Sometime after 2006, they both started playing World of Warcraft and did that for many years. They started this blog, originally called Sideshow & Syrana which has now transitioned to the new Stay-At-Home Gamers site, while keeping all of the original content.

Starting in 2010, two more gamers came along (now known as Princess Boo and Mr. X) and they are now old enough where they both enjoy playing games and watching others play games. They are both excited to have others to watch them play their favorite games. Come along with us and let's enjoy these games together!
